The dentist will then access the pulp chamber, clean and irrigate the canal system, and remove all infected tissue.
Once the canal is thoroughly cleaned, it is dried and filled with a rubber-based material to seal it and prevent future bacterial contamination.
A dental crown is strongly recommended after a root canal to protect the tooth from fracture and restore its strength and function.
